Villion Chardonnay 2023
Tasting Notes
Seductive, warm entry reminiscent of a steamy slice of Golden Delicious apple tart crumble with a fresh cream topping. Perfumed with sweet, citrus nartjie (mandarin) and crunchy yellow pineapple and pale white pear slices. Layers of buttered toast and crushed stone salinity underline the spontaneous fermented nature of this perfectly balanced Chardonnay.
Explosive mouth-filling presence with a rounded, creamy texture and a delightful, lingering, and broad citrus presence on the mid-palate. Perfect balance attained between the expression of origin in Elgin fruit, freshness and saline length and finish. Perfectly judged support of French Burgundian oak maturation.
Delightful already but will amply reward with a richer experience within the next 8-12 years from harvest.
