Villion Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Tasting Notes
Subtle, enticing entry, dominated by primary fruit aromas of dark red cherry, sun-ripe black plums and Cassis reduction. Captivating characteristics of graphite pencil shavings, sweet almond nuttiness and toasted caramel combine with multi-layered nuances of delicate spice to portray the origin of the fruit. Hints of ceder and camphor spice reflect the French oak maturation.
Mouth-filling, classic, dark berry dominance with an intense and robust cherry-sherbet freshness. Sweet, skin-derived fruit density on the mid-palate with dark chocolate and paprika nuances extend to a lingering, confidently textured presence. Elegant with perfectly balanced structure.
Delightful already but will reward amply with a richer experience within the next 8-12 years. Decanting recommended.
Use of Oak
Matured for 24 months in 300L French Oak barrels of which 31% was in new oak and the balance in second fill barrels.
